NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 1, 2004) – Celebrate Life. Find a Cure. That's the vision behind Positively Pink™ , a campaign designed by Shauna Mosley with AccessTalent to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Positively Pink campaign spokesperson Amy Grant announced that she will donate her Mazda Miata, a treasured gift from her artist management company, to Positively Pink in order to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.
The Miata will travel to four Mills Corporation mall locations, starting with Nashville's Opry Mills August 1– August 22. The Miata will also be on display in Houston, Dallas and Chicago, and guests can register to win the car at the kiosks, staffed by volunteer breast cancer survivors, and online at www.positivelypink.org . There is no purchase necessary, but you must be 18 to register.
Ericka Dunlap, Miss America 2004, heard about the event and Amy's donation and wanted to lend her support to Positively Pink . Dunlap dropped by a reception held at Princeton's Grill in Nashville and spoke to the press about the issues facing women today and her commitment to help raise awareness for breast cancer. Positively Pink introduced its new specialty gift line including jewelry, stationery, healthy chocolates, candles and more at this event. The Positively Pink line is available at the Mills Malls locations while the car is on display, as well as online at www.positivelypink.org. The proceeds benefit The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation ( www.minnipearl.org ).
The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to funding programs that provide the greatest benefit to cancer patients and their families, including new programs in cancer research, education, and patient and family services. All of these are done in memory of internationally known comedienne Minnie Pearl.
