Positively Pink launches campaign for The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation

by Judy Sarles

Positively Pink, a campaign to raise money and awareness for The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, will be launching a half-hour show on Comcast Channel 10, the Arts and Education Channel.

The show will feature educational programming about women's health issues and will highlight sponsors and local businesses that truly care about women's issues.

During Beauty Week, June 24-29, Positively Pink will introduce a 20-piece specialty line of gifts at Parisian department store in Cool Springs. All of the sales from the gifts, including jewelry, stationery, healthy chocolates and candles, will go to the foundation.

Amy Grant announced June 9 she has donated her Mazda Miata automobile to Positively Pink, and a drawing will be held in October to give away the car. "Win Your Ticket to Ride" drawing participants will be asked to donate at least $5 to the campaign, but no donation is necessary to enter the drawing. The Miata will be displayed at four Mills Corp. malls in the region, including Opry Mills.

Meanwhile, the Positively Pink dining campaign continues at Mere Bulles, Merchant's and Princeton Grille's restaurants, where diners who order from the Positively Pink dinner menu have 15 percent of their bill donated to the campaign and receive a box of specialty gift items. Organizers expect 6,000 boxes will have been given away by the end of the campaign.
